John Yonker is a Voice Talent with SPRQ Media.
Born to two teachers in Minnesota, Yonker developed a love for reading at a young age. He spent most of his free time immersed in books, letting his imagination run wild within the stories he was so passionate about. When he wasn't engrossed in reading or crafting stories of his own, Yonker frequently entertained those around him, be it his family or classmates. The stories he immersed himself in provided abundant material, and his talent for mimicry helped him not only to recount a tale but also to portray the different roles within the stories.
At the age of eight, Yonker's family acquired a television set, opening up an entirely new world for him and allowing him to broaden the source of inspiration for his stories and voices. From cartoons to Conan, Yonker absorbed the diverse content on television like a sponge.
Throughout his school years, Yonker nurtured his love for stories and storytelling, finding a second home in the theater, marked by theatrical productions and Dungeons & Dragons. He also engaged in forensics, particularly excelling in extemporaneous reading, clinching the district victory in his senior year.
Upon entering college, Yonker, regrettably, set aside many of his creative pursuits as he prepared for what he believed was his intended profession – becoming an attorney. Despite not fitting the stereotypical attorney mold, Yonker went on to forge a successful career as a commercial attorney.
Father to two children, he finally found his way back to the theater alongside his daughter about eight years ago. Since then, Yonker has performed in numerous plays in Prior Lake, Lakeville, and Shakopee. He is very excited to be a part of SPRQ.
